For All Seasons’ Annual Back-to-School Resource Fair Brings Hundreds Together at New Location
For All Seasons hosted its annual School Supplies Giveaway and Resource Fair on Wednesday, August 12, welcoming hundreds of local students and families to its new event location at the Easton Elks Lodge #1622. Held outdoors on a warm summer evening, the free community event provided several hundred backpacks filled with school supplies, along with an evening of games, sweet treats, community connection, and valuable community resources to help local families start the school year strong.
The Talbot County Department of Social Services was a lead sponsor for the event – contributing to the purchase of the pre-stuffed backpacks. Families also received additional school supplies from the community resource partners in attendance while learning about resources available to support their health and well-being throughout the school year.
“This event is about creating a fun and welcoming evening for families and helping ease some of the stress that can come with the start of a new school year,” said Carly Palmer, Assistant Director of Marketing & Outreach at For All Seasons. “We want students and families to feel like they are heading back to the classroom with a complete toolkit, including not only the physical school supplies they need, but also the mental health and community resources available to them throughout the year. The support of our sponsors, community partners, staff, and volunteers is what helps bring this event to life, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make it a great success.”
Organizations that participated in this year’s event included the Talbot County Department of Social Services, Discover Easton, Talbot County Health Department, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, The Village Maternal Holistic Wellness Center, Talbot Interfaith Shelter, Mid Shore Community Mediation Center, Talbot Humane, Talbot Family Network, Eastpoint Church, Easton Elementary School, The Santé Group, Shore Regional Health Cancer Center, Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center, Talbot County Parks and Recreation, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Chesapeake Voyagers, Inc., State of Maryland Office of Oral Health, Talbot County Free Library, YMCA of the Chesapeake, Shore Legal Access, and Infinite Legacy’s The Decision Project.
