Build the knowledge and skills to support youth mental health

Young people today face rising levels of anxiety, depression, and exposure to adversity. At the same time, research shows that supportive relationships and positive experiences can change outcomes.

This online course gives youth service professionals practical tools to understand what young people are carrying, respond with care, and create environments that promote growth and positive outcomes.

You will learn how mental health develops in children and teens, how trauma and adversity shape behavior, and how everyday interactions can build resilience.

This course is designed for people who show up every day for youth. Your role matters, and the way you respond can help a young person feel safe, supported, and understood.

This course is self-paced and accessible online. After registration, you will receive instructions to begin

Mental Health Awareness Month Lunch & Learn

Join us for a Free Lunch & Learn: Thriving Kids- Changing the Story of Trauma Through Positive Childhood Experiences

We’re opening the door to a meaningful conversation about understanding Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) and their role in healthy child development. This session will empower youth-serving professionals, mentors, educators, parents, grandparents, and other caregivers with practical tools to build safe, supportive environments where children can thrive.

Research shows that positive experiences in childhood improve mental health, strengthen resilience, and reduce long-term risk for trauma-related outcomes. During this session, you will learn what PCEs are, why they matter, and how consistent, everyday actions can create lasting impact.

During this session, you will:

  • Learn about the four building blocks of positive childhood experiences that support lifelong resilience and positive mental health
  • Understand strategies to create stability and a sense of belonging at home, in youth-serving settings, and in the community
  • Create an action plan you can apply right away
