The decision to initiate therapy can be an empowering step for people.  It often takes courage for someone to make that initial call – at For All Seasons, we hope that all individuals give themselves permission to walk on their journey of wellness through behavioral health services. We know that therapy is not about fixing or telling people what to do. Therapists guide, nurture and believe that people have the power within themselves to heal.  In therapy, people will develop the tools and skills needed to manage life’s challenges and discover their own capacity for growth. When working with infants, toddlers and young children, we know the importance of developing a secure attachment and work as a team with the guardians to build a healthy attachment.  We provide individual, family, and couples therapy (link to couples counseling). Our clients are children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. At For All Seasons, we also know the power of group therapy as a way to heal and have developed groups to inspire change.

How We Treat

Through a variety of treatment options, For All Seasons’ clinicians are able to provide the highest level of individualized care. The following list includes many of the therapies and treatments offered by our experienced clinical team. In addition to the following, it is important to mention that all of our therapists go through a trauma certification program that includes 80 hours of instruction.

>Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking, so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.

>Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) provides clients with new skills to manage painful emotions and decrease conflict in relationships. It balances change with acceptance and includes skills training on four modules – mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

>Sensorimotor Therapy uses the body as a way to heal trauma. The belief is that the body has wisdom and a story to tell. Research on trauma has shown that memories and internal sensations are held within the body. Through sensorimotor interventions such as mindfulness and reprocessing of body responses, an individual can heal.  This approach is different than talk therapy as the focus is on the body as a resource.

>Theraplay is a structured play therapy that assesses four dimensions of a child/caregiver-child interaction. The four dimensions include engagement, nurture, structure, and challenge.  Theraplay works on developing healthy relationships and understanding through a child’s natural way of being – play.

>Motivational Interviewing is a counseling style that focuses on helping people to resolve feelings of ambivalence and insecurity. There is a collaboration between therapist and client to help the client find their own intrinsic motivation and values. Therapists offers empathetic, supportive and directive approach to help the client meet his or her goals.

>Certified Art Therapy incorporates disciplines of psychology and art. Art Therapy utilizes the creative act of making art (i.e. painting, drawing, etc.) to benefit a person’s emotional and psychological state. The process can help individuals lower anxiety, manage addictions, build self-esteem, improve social skills, strengthen awareness of emotions, and improve overall well-being.

>EMDR – Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. There is a focus on resourcing clients, as well as addressing traumatic experiences. It works on reducing distress, negative beliefs being reformulated, and physiological arousal.
