Over 35 years later, our practice is the largest Behavioral Health Center and the only Rape Crisis Center serving all five counties on the Mid-Shore of Maryland. We offer an expert treatment team, with trauma-certified therapists and psychiatrists available to help individuals, couples, and families through our mental health services. Learning how to ask for help with mental health starts with identifying how it affects you. It’s time to ask for help  if you frequently experience these symptoms:

Depression: Depression, one of the most common forms of mental illness, is a feeling of overwhelming sadness or dread present in every aspect of your life. This may affect how you feel about yourself, your relationships, sleeping patterns, and loss of satisfaction from activities you once enjoyed. If this feeling persists for more than two weeks, it’s time to seek help from our mental health professionals.

Anxiety: Like depression, anxiety profoundly influences your ability to participate in everyday life. It affects your thoughts and emotions and even manifests in common physical symptoms, including shortness of breath and rapid heart rate. If anxiety begins to interfere with daily activities such as socializing, sleeping, working, school, or errands, contact our professionals.

Self-Harm or Suicidal Thoughts: Self-harm or suicidal thoughts are very serious and always a sign it’s time to seek mental health assistance.
